Re Della Pasta 甲虫餐厅

Finally I can put pen to paper, a long overdue article of Re Della Pasta. This is my 2nd visit to the F&B chain, my 1st was at KSL shopping centre (you can read my article here). Gut instinct from the initial encounter was, Re Della can provide me with the much needed ammunition to conjure a decent review, with its extensive, yet creative range of items on the menu. It can be a daunting task for one to vet through it, facing constant bombardment by names of Italian dishes being hurled towards me. The constant flipping back and forth doesn't help and only adds on to one's dilemma. Having said that, amidst all the dilemmas and confusions, there will definitely be something in the list that will manage to tempt one's palate.

Ho Seng Kee 何成記 雲吞麵家

何成記可说是新山历史最悠久的其中一家云吞面摊，打从1940年开始至今已经70多年了！真的不是开玩笑的，那个时候我爸妈都还没出世呢！当年何前辈就位于Jalan Siu Name与Jalan Meldrum交界处开了一个小档口，各位老新山人都应该对这地方很熟啦！现在坡底MBF银行对面就是了。搬迁了4次，今日落脚于新山世纪花园 Taman Century，步行可达KSL City, 11@Century和Holiday Plaza。

这次的敬香团之旅是由OKGo JB举办，并带团的。我也非常荣幸受邀参与一份。其实这次的旅程就带我去了许许多多的景点，包括各式麻坡的著名美食（例如贪吃街，麻坡乌打，旧戏院炒果条）和Batu Pahat琳琅满目的不同庙宇。

从Batu Pahat回返新山前的最后一站，就是这家兼卖西餐和娘惹佳肴的餐厅。饱餐一顿后，就可以一路睡到家了，好享受哦！

Jade Garden 翡翠园海鲜酒家

不管你是Desaru一日游，来看鸵鸟，参观水果园，还是坐船从新加坡远到来四湾岛骑脚车，海鲜大餐一定是必点必吃的一个项目。四湾岛本身就是一个小渔村，拥有丰富的海产，不过最近会在此开设的炼油厂好像会带来不必要的环境污染，虽然说政府一再强调这不是问题。这一切的一切又不知道对这小渔村的未来和数于百计的渔民居民会带来怎样的冲击？不过吃还是要吃，那就乘海水没备受污染前，吃个痛快！哈哈

Matterhon Bistro & Steak House



Got a deal for this over Groupon again, paying RM15 for a RM30 cash voucher. Needless to say, it just wasn't enough to cover the expenses one has to spend over here for a meal. RM30 can't probably get you a plate of pasta to be honest, more likely offsetting the service charge and government tax. It wasn't my first time here, second time as a matter of fact but it could possibly be my last time.

Had a rather disappointing experience the first time round, but nonetheless greed prompted me to get the Groupon voucher and give this place another shot. I couldn't describe how disappointed I was (not with the food, but specifically the manager). One knows how irritating to be constantly bombarded with offers for meal upgrades, how about trying our Wagyu, how about going for Japanese scallops instead of frozen ones, how about more appetizer to go with your meal or how about having some wine .. and it goes on and on even with my constant refusal to budge.

田园粥火锅 Farmland porridge steamboat

最近天气都比较冷，天天下着绵绵细雨。JB Foodie 我也想着吃些热呼呼的食物暖暖身子。
新山其实有很多，数不尽的火锅兼铁板烧店。有些是ala-carte或buffet，各式各样都有。我本人比较喜欢的就是好好火锅和今天所要介绍的田园粥底火锅。

利用粥来代替普篇的鸡，tomyam和麻辣汤底应该很有新鲜感吧。这幅有创意的火锅料理，对外国人来说应该很少见（其实他们已经有很多分行，不仅限于新山。其他州也有他们的踪迹）。

大排档海鲜饭店 Restoran Tapai Tang

大排档就坐落在新山美乐花园，前后左右都围绕着好吃的美食。早餐可以选择吃阿明潮洲果条汤，午餐可以吃酿豆腐，晚餐就可以选择大排档或星记咖哩鱼头。除了这些，这地方就没什么特别的了。这也不是我第一次观临 了，不过每次来到都必点一些他们的招牌菜。

今天去JPO, 路经 Indahpura 就决定歇下脚步，先来碗甜品再出发。到的时候，店里也没什么人，很冷清，总觉得少了一股活力。就连服务员也备受影响， 态度懒散，提不起劲。第一次到此，就遇到这样，印象不太好哦！后来才发现原来对面开了黑丸！早知道就过去对面算了。。后悔！后悔！

Tera Thai Fine Dine Restaurant

When one talks about Thai cuisine in Johor Bahru, there's only a few which surfaces in the head that will stir up my interest (and appetite). I had first hand experiences at restaurants in Taman Molek, Taman Gaya & JB city (*drums roll* yes, it's Carabao) and mind you, they aren't cheap. Affordability is a word one don't come across easily these days, especially in Johor Bahru. Sighh ...

I chanced upon the place couple months back, but am skeptical so it never brought about any second thoughts in me to pay a visit. As things would have it, stingy me spotted Groupon offering a deal at only RM25 for a fine Thai dining experience at Tera Thai. I jumped at the opportunity for a go at it, wonder how it will be ?
